News update, December 2008
Dear
Friends
Many
of you have been asking for up to date news of what we are doing and what
is happening to us.It has now been over 3 months since I returned
from Canada to England and 2 months since Christine returned. We are both
in good spirits and still rejoicing in the goodness of our God and very
much aware we are in His hands. We are still sharing a flat with Pat and
Jeff who so willingly took us in. We have a bedroom and a small sitting
room to use, the rest we share. They have both been such a blessing to
us and an encouragement in so many ways.As you already know one of the
strangest and most difficult things for us to do was the breaking up of
2 much loved homes within a year. It was especially hard for Christine
as she really loved our Canadian home and living in Canada. This is something
we never thought would happen to us when we left for Canada. As we
left Canada like when we left England many, many items were given away.
All electrical items were left behind and many items we would have loved
to have brought back with us, but due to high shipping costs we could not.
We saw the Lord provide and bring together our home in Canada then saw
what He had provided us with being recycled in the Kingdom and others as
a result being blessed. We have estimated that the whole Canadian
adventure has cost us well over 20.000 pounds ($40.000 dollars). Sadly
we have heard of at least 6 other couples who have been in a situation
similar to us.
THE
DISAPPEARING TRICKS REAPPEAR !
On returning to England’s green
and pleasant land we awaited the arrival of what few household goods we
have left. When they arrived, guess what, some were damaged or broken and
others were missing including Paul’s large metal fight case containing
most of his visual aids and magic tricks. Paul ,before we left England
had given away a lot of his visual aids so you can imagine how he felt.
We prayed that the Lord knew where the case was and that it would turn
up. Praise the Lord it has! An American lady who shipped her things to
Scotland had it delivered to her amongst her items. Realising it was not
hers she opened it up and saw what was inside including a card with Pauls
name and our web site. She tracked us down and phoned us up, the update
is that a courier company has picked it up and we now have it back. It
was God’s goodness in action,That is always amazing. We rejoice for the
lady’s honesty and kindness.
With regards
the items missing, damaged or broken we are in contact with both the shipping
company in Canada and the handling company here in England. It now seems
that because our goods were not unwrapped at the point of delivery it has
invalidated our insurance. We would value your prayers as we try
to resolve this issue.
MINISTRY
AND OTHER WORK
Most weekends Christine has traveled
with me as I have been out preaching and ministering in various parts of
the England. There has been good response and we have seen people encouraged
in the things of God. As for the week days I have been helping out in various
situations from painting and decorating the meeting room of our home church
to helping a new business that one of the elders has started. Unloading
pallets of goods, delivering items including driving a white van up and
down the country. I have even been able to help my son on a joinery job
of his. In all, it has been very enjoyable doing a variety of things to
help out where I can, doing whatever I can and again it has given me a
taste of ‘Paul’s tent making time’
THE
DAYS AHEAD
There has been lots
of preaching and ministry opportunities coming in, so most weekends we
have been on the road. When we arrived back in England we were dependant
on being loaned cars to help us get around. People in our home church have
been very helpful in this respect. As travelling opportunities increased
I knew I needed to get a car so I brought a used car on my credit card.
Imagine how we felt when the next day I had a phone call to tell me someone
was paying for it! We praise God for His goodness and the faithfulness
of God’s people. As for a house, we are unsure as to where to base ourselves,
the natural decision is to choose the North West as family and friends
are all here. It will also depend on what we can afford and on the Lords
provision. At the moment it is like having a blank canvas in every area
of our lives to draw on as the Lord leads.Even though the past year has
been difficult we have both feel an amazing sense of the peace of God in
our lives. We know in all things that our heavenly Father is never a disappointment,
He is always faithful. We are so grateful for the way He has sustained
us both, provided for us and been our tower of strength and our source
of grace.
SNOW
BUSTERS TOUR!
India and other places
– I flew to Mumbai on the 27thNov arriving just as the troubles
were unfolding. I was in India to teach at a leader’s school of ministry
in Nasik, this is just north of Mumbai (Bombay). This lasted for one week
followed by ministry in a village. Then back to Mumbai from where I flew
to the Arabian Gulf on the 7th December. Here I have some great
opportunities to minister to the nations, Filipino, Nepalese, Indian, African
and an assortment of others. Later this month on the 17th December Christine
and our son Jonathan will be joining me. We will all minister in
an International Church and a number of fellowships made up of overseas
workers. We will also be having Christmas out there in the warmth AH so
different to last year in the snow! From the Gulf on the 9th
January we fly across to Hyderabad, India where we will minister in villages
and conduct a leader’s seminar for the evangelists and church planters
ministering in some very difficult situations. Kerstin a lady from
our home base church will be joining in India. From there it will be back
to Mumbai, Nasik and then down to Goa to minister amongst the churches
of New Life fellowship of Churches. For me this trip lasts over 2 months
as we leave India for the UK on the 29th January 2009Back
in the UK there have been some invitations for us to lead churches but
we are not convinced that this is the way forward for us to go. Other openings
are in the pipeline and we are praying them through. On our return
from this trip we are praying that we can find a new home as quickly as
possible , we really do need the Lord to provide. Please pray for the Lord
to go before us and lead us to the place he has for us.Change is all
around us and we only want to serve the Lord where He wants us to. We desire
to reflect Jesus and for Him to be glorified. We are very much encouraged
that the lord is in control and He knows the plans He has for us. Every
day is a day of destiny in Him.Thank you for your ongoing prayers and for
the financial support that has come in for us, bless you.Do watch our web
site www.paulandchristinemorley.com
as I plan to put articles as well as new messages on there in the coming
days.May you grow in knowing Him and making Him known keeping your eyes
upon Him.Every blessing
Paul and Christine
