| I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help
come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
- Psalm 121:1
Sometimes its hard to understand adversity -- but there's a purpose! Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” |
THE RETURN
I write this update having returned to England ahead of Christine. I needed to sort out accommodation and storage for the small amount of items that we are shipping back. As I left Canada the house was up for sale. It was put on the market on 11th august, which ironically was exactly 11 months to the day since we left for Canada, the keys will be handed over to the new owner on Sept 19th. The real estate agents, who became good friends of ours have been amazed at how quickly we found a buyer. They said that they saw the hand of God in the buying of the house and now in the selling of the house. It is just the in-between parts that remain a puzzle. As you are aware we never intended to leave for Canada only to return to the UK a year later. At the moment we are jobless, homeless, car less, but certainly not Godless! At present I have been staying with some friends. Christine and our son Jonathan return to the UK on 24th September. Then Christine and I will be straying with some other friends for a while. As I am sure you can appreciate this is a strange and difficult situation for us both having never been in a situation like this before. Despite it all we know His peace in our loves and our level of faith and trust in our heavenly Father has certainly increased. We both feel an increased closeness to our heavenly Father, seeing His goodness and knowing that despite everything our God is in control. Our times are very much in His hands and He is holding our hands in His and walking us though Psalm 73 v23 “nevertheless I am continually with you. You have taken hold of my right hand.” THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS! The question that we are
most commonly asked is so what was Canada all about? Strangely enough we
still believe that it was the Lords leading to go and that we went in obedience
to Him but it was definitely not His plan as to how things ended up. We
know that nothing is ever wasted in God’s purposes; Joseph is a prime example
of this. We are thankful for the years experience of living in another
nation and for the good friends we have met. We both have felt that we
have grown deeper in the things of God and tapped into a deeper measure
of His grace which is hard to explain within the confines of a newsletter.
It is easy to believe and trust the Lord when things are going well but
it is in the difficult tough times, as you look to Him that you prove God.
In tough times it can be easy to moan, groan and complain side with the
enemy and accuse God of what He is not guilty of. Instead of forgiving
and blessing it can be easy to speak against those who have wronged you
but in doing these things you are just siding with the enemy, and what
good has he ever done any of us? That is why in difficult times, whilst
we may not understand why, it is important to keep your eyes focused on
Jesus and seek to be like Him after all He is the great reverser of impossible
situations
KIDS MINISTRY
As for the days ahead, they are somewhat like a blank canvas we are on a new adventure with our God. We are not sure what the next days will hold and would certainly value your prayers. We are not sure where we will be based, or if indeed we can afford to buy a house, even with the housing market prices dropping. For the next few months our temporary contact address will be: 1 Horse Carrs,
My mobile phone
no. remains 07860 470812. For email contact
please use Invitations to minister have been coming in. We have been invited to stay in the Arabian gulf for a few months. This would involve ministering at a number of churches in different Gulf states and it involves reaching the nations. This is somewhat appealing, spending the winter in the sun and not the 9ft of snow that we had last winter in Canada! This would also mean that it is nearer and easier to get to India. I am hoping to return there so that we can encourage and give some input and help to the leaders. This year saw an increase in persecution for many of the Indian Christian leaders. Many believers are being killed and churches burnt down at the hands of militant Hindus. The Advert If you like the layout, pictures etc of this newsletter and you regularly send church newsletter out to congregations, then it may be worth trying to iContact www.icontact.com They give you a 15 day free trial and over 300 templates etc to use. It also manages your list so you can see the response you get. You can click the link on our website to try it out. Plus I get a few pence to help with the ministry. Also If you would like to help with the costs of a leaders conference in India and village outreach you can donate via paypal on the web site. Do check out our web site at www.paulandchristinemorley.com. We are trying to keep the website updated, adding new stuff and information on as we go.
